Logbook #18: New Year Game Design

Dear Logbook,

I just make a little game. Its about making monsters to use for RPGs. It took about an hour. It was a very demanding hour mind you, but a fulfilling one nevertheless. Going to play it with my family and use the monsters created in a game of Maze Rats (Really cool light RPG game that I can run with all ages and experience).

Going to do more creative stuff this year, push myself to create cool and exciting things. I don't have the best track record of completing projects, most don't even get past the notebook phase. Someday I'd like to record a video discussing my notebook ideas and talk through my design thoughts and inspiration while working on them. Might be a little pedantic, but I think some of those ideas might be worth revisiting.

In other news I've been playing lots of games over winter break. Been loving Cassette Beasts, the multiplayer works so well, and exclusively play it with my brother.  Also gotten back into Age of Empires 2, while old it is a definitive cult classic. I can also recommend the board game Tiki Topple; it's a lightweight interactive game for 4 players. Good stuff.

Ok, I've rambled for long enough. Peace out girl scout.

-Mason

P.S. Download Monster Lab, it would be cool to see all the numbers get big.
